This Is Why We're Here

I couldn't let the opening night of the NBA season go by without at least a quick post. Especially when Leon Powe comes into the game and, in typical fashion, gets a bucket and a foul immediately. As the announcer just said, Wally Szerbiak cannot D up on Powe.

I'll update more as the game goes on, but it's nice to see you can still count on Zero.

UPDATE: So the 2008/2009 Celtics start the season off with a win, and our namesake Leon Powe ends the game with 13 points on 5/7 shooting and 4 free throws. What's more interesting is that, with Patrick O'Bryant inactive for the game, the C's really had no backup Center. What does that mean to us? It means more power to our cause, as Leon logged 23 minutes tonight. That's a number he didn't reach until January last season, and only hit 12 times all year (mostly when Garnett was hurt). If Doc keeps this up we're going to have to change our name to "Keep Playing Leon Powe Dot Com." Pats on the back all around.

PS: I'm watching the Lakers/Blazers game and I have two notes. 1) It looks like Greg Oden's age is finally catching up to him, and 2) The broadcast does not show the time anywhere on the screen. Seriously TNT, act like you've been here before.
